Grandeur and Grace

This new construction project has thoughtful, layered textures in every space. Rocke likes to see a material realized in different ways. For example, the interiors of this beautiful residence demonstrate layered walnut with different expressions: bleached floors, rich oiled cabinets, and walnut sap wood paneling with a variety of finishes throughout. Rocke also used leather on cabinet door fronts, a chandelier, and upholstery straps. With a stunning hilltop view overlooking the Jordanelle Reservoir, this retreat complete with yoga studio and vintage pieces is a custom getaway that caters to every need.

A large patina pivot door opens to a walnut paneled entry, flanked by a sculptural bench, table, and artwork from the client’s own collection. Moving into the great room, soulful vintage chairs strapped in leather greet you with an open leg design to keep the light flowing through the large space. A plaster angular fireplace creates an art wall to accompany the high-end designer furniture pieces. The kitchen is both functional and elaborate. A custom cabinet profile pairs with leather front doors and bronze mirrors for varying tactile and visual experiences. A breakfast nook gets its own glass house treatment with large custom dining benches and an upcycled table made from bowling alley wood and lit by a sumptuous glass fixture.

Natural Beauty

The design of the Primary Bedroom is a study in quiet discrete contrasts, layered textures, and natural elements. A wood angled tray ceiling lifts the space while a supple rug grounds the unique furniture collection. A corner fireplace creates intimacy and carries the paneled wood in an interesting and different way with a nickel gap offering contrasts in spacing.  Within the bathroom, a nook is carved out for a small make-up vanity to accompany linen closets all painted the same color as the walls so as not to detract from the rest of the glamourous bathroom. Back to back vanities anchor the center of the bathroom with a floating double sided mirror balanced by two copper pendants with mothblown glass globes. A semi-transparent, glass artisanal bathtub reflects colored light creating a special vignette surrounded by natural beauty.

Elevated Elements

Layered within each space are curated moments of magic created with unique materials that elevate the natural design and speak to the vintage, bespoke furnishings.

Tucked seamlessly behind a hidden door within the tongue-and-groove wood entry hallway, the main level powder bath reveals itself as a striking design moment. A live-edge walnut vanity anchors the space, paired with a sculptural stone vessel sink and wall-mounted faucet. The focal point—a custom mirror framed in metallic orbs—adds artful dimension, while textured wallcoverings and warm lighting create a sophisticated yet inviting jewel box just off the entry.

In the lower powder bath, an angled mirror plays with an angled side sconce and sideways faucet for an adventurous restroom break. The custom vanity was crafted fully in stone slab with an integrated angled trough sink for a seamless and complete design.
